Registration for the 2026–2027 Special Olympics Calgary program season opens:

Athlete and Volunteer Registration Timelines
July 20 – Athlete and Volunteer Registration Opens at 12:00pm (Noon)
Registration for all sport programs for the 2026/2027 season opens.
August 10 - Returning Athletes – Guaranteed Spot Deadline
Returning athletes have until 2:00 p.m. on August 10 to guarantee a spot in the program(s) they were registered for and attended during the 2025–2026 season.
Please note:
Athletes requesting a different location, program, or a new program are not guaranteed a spot.
Returning athletes who do not submit their registration by 2:00 p.m. on August 10 will not have a guaranteed spot.
August 17 to 28 - Program Confirmation Invoices
Confirmation invoices will be emailed to athletes and will include:
Programs the athlete has been accepted into
Programs where the athlete has been placed on a waitlist
Applicable program fees
Payment instructions.
September 3 - Payment Day
The Special Olympics Calgary office will be open late for in-person payments from:
11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
September 9 -Payment Day
The Special Olympics Calgary office will be open late for in-person payments from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Athlete and Volunteer Registration Process
Please follow the below steps to register for Special Olympics Calgary programs.
1. Choose Your Program(s)
Review the 2026–2027 Special Olympics Calgary Program Guide and select the programs you would like to register for.

We strongly recommend submitting registrations for all Fall/Winter and Spring programs in July 2026 to ensure the best chance of securing a spot.
2. Submit Your Registration using the link below. Please see the registration support materials if you have any questions about Team Snap or how to submit a registration.

Please note: Submitting a registration form is a registration request only and does not guarantee a spot in a program.
3. Program confirmation and payment
Athletes
If a spot is available in the requested program, a confirmation invoice will be emailed to the participant email address provided during registration.
Please note that confirmation emails and invoices may take 3–4 weeks to be sent, depending on the time of registration and program season.
Accepted payment methods include:
Online credit card payment, Cheque, or Cash
Payment instructions will be included on the confirmation invoice.
Volunteers
If a volunteer position is available, a confirmation email will be sent to the participant email address provided during registration.
Any outstanding requirements, including SafeSport training and a valid criminal record check, will be communicated at that time.
4. Program Start Information
Approximately 2–4 weeks before the program start date, participants will receive an email with all program details, including schedules and important information.
Please check your junk/spam folder regularly, as some emails may be filtered there.
Program Information
Attendance Expectations
Attendance will be recorded at every program session. Athletes must be confirmed in the program to participate.
Athletes are expected to attend at least 75% of program sessions to continue holding a spot in the program and to participate in tournaments, competitions, performances, and games.
For programs with waitlists:
If an athlete is absent without notice for 2 consecutive practices, a “Warning of Absence” email will be sent.
If an athlete is absent without notice for a 3rd consecutive practice, they may be removed from the program to allow another athlete the opportunity to participate.
No refunds will be provided for unexplained absences.

Program Information
Refund and Withdrawal Policy
A refund may be issued for athletes who request to withdraw from a program within 3 weeks of the first program session. All requests must be emailed to info@specialolympicscalgary.ca
Within 3 Weeks of Program Start Date - A refund or credit may be issued with a written request submitted by email.
After 3 weeks of Program Start Date - Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Please contact the Special Olympics Calgary office with any questions regarding refunds or withdrawals.

Weather /Program Cancellations
Programs are subject to cancellation in the following weather conditions:
Fall/Winter Programs
• Indoor activities: Temperatures below -30°C, including wind chill
• Outdoor activities: Temperatures below -20°C, including wind chill
• Ice storms or snowstorms may lead to the cancellation of outdoor programs
Spring/Summer Programs
• Outdoor activities: Temperatures above +27°C (excluding humidex) OR above +30°C (including humidex)
• All outdoor activities will be suspended during thunderstorms. Activities may start again 20 minutes after the end of the storm (the last bolts of lightning)
• Air Quality Index: Outdoor programs should be cancelled when AQHI reaches seven (7) or above
Programs may also be cancelled due to unsafe driving conditions. Safety is our utmost priority.
The decision to cancel programs will be at the discretion of the office and/or Head Coach. Programs may also be canceled due to facility availability
